Neighbourhood: St. Clair West

Start Time: 1:00pm

Alejandra Bravo, St. Clair West Village Residents / Manager Leadership and Learning, The Maytree Foundation.
Alejandra Bravo will lead a walk, joined by resident experts, examining the interplay between her old and new St. Clair West neighbourhood, today one of the most diverse in the city:
- Oakwood Collegiate, from a jazz history to the place where new artists emerge.
- The staircases of Regal Heights, pedestrians past and present.
- The St. Clair West streetcar as a right-of-way on the avenue, then and now.
- St. Clare’s Parish serving a changing community.
- The transforming main street businesses: Italian history and multicultural present.
- Art in a community space: from the restored murals in the Dufferin-St. Clair Library, to the opening exhibit of Armando Lulu’s photographs at the new Side Space Gallery, a project developed collaboratively between artists and local business.
