This will be a tour – approximately 90 minutes – of the West Queen West gallery and artist district. This area, roughly between Dufferin and Shaw, has become a hotbed of controversy and new galleries in the last 10 years. We will drop into a few of the galleries, look at the Abell Street building which houses approximately 200 artists and generally discuss what happens during the process of gentrification of an area.
