We will explore the part of Toronto’s ravine system that traverses Rosedale which can be thought of as a neighbourhood park. It can be accessed by public transit, roads from private houses, and from the existing Rosedale parks. It is used by bikers, joggers, skiers, dog owners and walkers just seeking the balm of green. “People confer use on parks and make them successes”, wrote Jane Jacobs.

We will start at the Chorley Park bus stop, enter the ravine, pass the Brickworks and go up to street level at Beaumont Road, to look at Rosedale follow Glen Road to Summerhill, Rosedale’s shopping street and finish back at Chorley Park.

Duration 1 hour – 1-1/2 hours.

Given by Jane and Eb Zeidler who live in Rosedale and were friends of Jane Jacobs.
