Guided by Microskills Youth and Action for Neighbourhood Change
North Kipling is one the Mayor’s Tower Renewal neighbourhoods, and is currently undergoing a revitalization process. Home to over 13,000 people who live in 19 apartment towers surrounding a massive ravine, the North Kipling Neighbourhood is full of stories. Join us on this inter-generational exploration of the neighbourhood around Kipling and Finch. Youth and adults who live, work and play in this community will share their stories. Come out to hear stories about what helps, what hurts and what haunts this incredible neighbourhood.
This tour will end with a screening of place-based digital stories made by neighbourhood youth, and refreshments at the local Action for Neighbourhood Change community room in 2667 Kipling.
The walk is part of the North Kipling Storymapping project, a partnership between MicroSkills, Jane’s Walk, the Centre for Digital Storytelling and TO Live with Culture.
